Nature Hikes/Walks: Saturdays beginning at 8 a.m.
April 9, 2016: Where was the Ranch of the Seventh Range? – Easy hike led by Hal Summers; Meet at Lake Cahuilla. Hike near the tufa, remnants of the former Lake Cahuilla; explore Cahuilla petroglyphs, early Japanese settler etchings, & CVWD’s recharge ponds.
Offered by the City of La Quinta, Stewards of the Fred Wolff Nature Preserve, Santa Rosa & San Jacinto Mountains National Monument, and Friends of the Desert Mountains
Hikes and Walks meet at the Top of the Cove parking lot on Calle Tecate;
Bring 2 liters of water per person (more for longer, strenuous hikes), snacks, and lunch for longer hikes. Wear close-toed shoes, hat, and sunscreen.
