New Development Software System

The City of La Quinta has partnered with Tyler Technologies to provide an improved and more efficient customer service experience with an advanced online software system. The HUB Online Portal provides the City with tools to reduce the need for redundant data input, reduce staff and customer time when assisting the public with permitting and licensing, allow Geographic Information System (GIS) integration, and increase the public’s access to information and online services.

The HUB Online Portal enables customers to submit and track information for:

  • Permits

  • Plans

  • Inspections

  • Business Licenses

This new service launched on August 21, 2023, and replaced the legacy TRAKiT system. The TRAKiT system is no longer in service as of August 15, 2023.

Background

The City’s existing permit software, TRAKiT, has become a legacy system that does not provide a user friendly experience for residents or staff based on feedback, including items such as business license management requiring manual input due to technical issues. The City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) in November 2020 for Permit Tracking and Licensing Software Services. Nine firms responded and staff selected three firms for interviews and demonstrations.

After extensive review of services provided by all firms, implementation strategies, and longevity of software to serve the City’s growing needs, Tyler Technologies, Inc. (Tyler) was selected. City Council approved the Tyler selection on October 19, 2021.
