Overview

The Planning Division is a knowledgeable and accessible team of professionals guiding the growth and enhancement of the City of La Quinta.

The Planning Division's function is to enhance the well-being of residents, property owners, businesses, and visitors of the City of La Quinta. The division accomplishes this through current and advanced planning efforts that encourage high quality development as well as preservation and revitalization of existing neighborhoods.

The General Plan 2035 serves as the blueprint for citywide land use, the Zoning Code provides development standards and permitted land uses for the City’s zoning districts. Planning Division staff is available to residents, businesses, and developers to discuss development proposals or use permits upon request. Planning Commission

Planning Commission meetings are held in the City Hall Council Chamber at 5:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
