The Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District (CVMVCD) is a special district whose mission is to reduce the risk of disease transmission, by mosquitoes and other vectors, for residents and visitors of the Coachella Valley. 
 
The Board of Trustees are officials appointed by their respective city councils to govern the Coachella Valley Mosquito and Vector Control District knowledgeably and effectively. Trustees are highly dedicated to this community service. Members serve a four-year term. The normal expiration date for terms is January. 

The District operates under California Health and Safety Code 2000-2093.  Its boundaries encompass 2400 square miles which include the cities of Cathedral City, Coachella, Desert Hot Springs, Indian Wells, Indio, La Quinta, Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage and Riverside County.
