More About the CIP
Each spring, the City Council begins its strategic planning process for key City plans, including the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The Engineering Services Team is responsible for preparing and updating this program, which is a key tool that identifies major improvement needs throughout the City such as roads, signal lights, and bridges. The financing and timing of these needs (projects) are planned with the public's interest and safety in mind. As each annual budget is prepared, additional projects are added to the CIP to maintain a total 5-year plan.
