What Residents Can Do to Prepare

The City of La Quinta Emergency Management Division works with all City Departments and partner agencies to lessen the impacts of disasters to the City and our residents. Emergency Management is responsible for the coordination of mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery activities within the City.

Local Plans and Training

The Emergency Services Coordinator is also responsible for the City's Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) Part 1: Basic Plan and Part 2: Supporting Documents, along with the staffing and operation of the La Quinta Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

The City of La Quinta has completed the 2023 Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP). The LHMP helps to lessen La Quinta's vulnerability to man-made and natural hazards as well as demonstrate the City’s commitment to reducing risks posed by these hazards to our residents, property and critical infrastructure.

Emergency Preparedness is very important for City of La Quinta, therefore, training exercises and are held at city hall for both employees and residents which include Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, Incident Command System (ICS) training and emergency preparedness training.
