City Manager's Executive Orders

Per City Resolution EM 2020-001, adopted on March 17, 2020, the City Council granted the City Manager additional authority and powers while there exists a Local Emergency in and throughout the City of La Quinta, where the Local Emergency is the threatened existence and spread of COVID-19.

The City Manager shall promulgate and issue executive orders necessary to immediately provide for the protection of life and property in response to the Local Emergency, including but not limited to any executive orders based upon guidelines issued by any Federal, State, or County agency, which executive orders shall be given widespread publicity and notice.

  • Executive Order 1 - FIRST AMENDED - Limited Re-Opening of City Hall
  • Executive Order 2 TERMINATED - Alignment with State for FUTURE opening of playground equipment
  • Executive Order 3 TERMINATED - Limited Use SilverRock Resort Golf Course & Ancillary Areas (Private lessons and driving range use allowed with social distancing guidelines)
  • Executive Order 4 TERMINATED - Opening and Play of All Golf Courses and Ancillary Areas with Safety Guidelines (Private lessons and driving range use allowed with social distancing guidelines)
  • Executive Order 5 - TERMINATED - Order Governing Limited Uses For Outdoor Recreation at Parks, Trails and Recreational Courts 
  • Executive Order 6 TERMINATED - Order Allowing Limited Use of Private Shared-Use Swimming Pools and Spas in the City
  • Executive Order 7 - TERMINATED - Order governing all Short Term, Vacation, Hotel, Motel, Time-Share, and Similar Lodging Rentals
  • Executive Order 8 TERMINATED - Order Governing the Use of Face Coverings and Social Distancing in Stores and Businesses
  • Executive Order 9 TERMINATED - Order Governing Use and Occupation of Short Term Vacation Rental Units
  • Executive Order 10 - FOURTH AMENDED - Order Imposing a Moratorium Until June 1, 2021 on Processing Any New Applications For Short Term Vacation Rentals
