In observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, City Offices Will Be Closed Thursday and Friday, November 28th and 29th. Inspections scheduled after 4:00 PM Wednesday the 27th will be Performed Tuesday December 2nd. Please plan accordingly for any related business that may need to be addressed during this time frame.
Per La Quinta Municipal Code Section 6.08.050, Thanksgiving is a Holiday and Disturbances by Construction Noises is Prohibited. It is a nuisance and it is unlawful, for any person to be engaged or employed, or for any person to cause any other person to be engaged or employed, in any work of construction, erection, alteration, repair, addition to, or improvement to realty.
Inspections for work authorized by a current Building Permit are Scheduled by either using your Registered Account and making it Online through the Web Portal or by leaving a Voicemail on the Inspection Request Hotline. Only inspections scheduled through the Web Portal receive confirmation, this is also the preferred method to manage your project.
Inspections will not be scheduled more than one business days in advance. Requests are accepted until 4:00 PM during normal business hours for next business day inspections. Inspection requests received after 4:00 PM Fridays will be performed the following Tuesday, subject to City Hall Closures. Next day requests received after 4:00 PM or same day requests will not be accepted.
Building inspections are performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM excluding Holidays.

Online Using the Web Portal for Registered Users
Use the above link to log into the system using the Registered Account used to obtain the permit or another linked contact.
Access the permit requiring inspection by either the “Dashboard” or "My Work" link in the main banner, from there you can use the “Summary” or "Inspections" tab to “Request” the desired inspection(s). You will be able to select from a list of inspection types, all may not be necessary/required, consult your inspector if you have any questions. If selecting multiple inspections, make sure to enter the "Requested Date" on each or select the "Use Same Date for All", and click "Request All" to confirm your request.

We recommend that you call from a land line phone rather than a cell phone when scheduling an inspection for better audio quality of your recording. When calling to schedule an inspection, please provide the following information:
- Area or the development where your inspection is located
- Complete street address of the job location
- Permit Number on your job card
- Type of inspection you are requesting
- Contact phone number in case we have questions
- If your inspection is in a gated community, please leave gate access information or make arrangements for access with your inspector
- If this is a re-inspection, please indicate this in the message
Changing or Cancelling an Inspection
Call the Building Division at (760) 777-7000. Do not call the Inspection Request Hotline to cancel an inspection.
Knowing when Your Inspection Will Be Performed
The Building Division is now providing two-hour inspection windows. The inspection schedule will be posted on the website by 8:00AM each day.
